Description

The Shuttlecock Fern, Matteuccia struthiopteris, has ornate upright bright green fronds up to 1.5 metres in height. These main fronds are sterile and shorter, brownish fruiting fronds can appear around the edge.

Matteuccia struthiopteris is a deciduous fern that grows well in moist soil and part or full shade. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and is ideal for adding colour to dark corners of the garden.
