Description

Cupressus macrocarpa 'Wilma' is a vibrant Monterey Cypress with a naturally narrow, columnar habit. Its vibrant lime-green evergreen foliage provides reliable year-round colour and releases a fresh lemon fragrance when gently brushed or clipped.

A slow-growing conifer, Cupressus macrocarpa 'Wilma' will reach approximately 3 x 0.8 metres in height and spread of 20 years. It is particularly well suited to smaller gardens, patios, and container planting. It works equally well as a compact specimen or for adding structure and contrast within mixed borders.

For best results, grow in a sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant and requires minimal maintenance. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Wilma' is a dependable choice for adding lasting colour and form to the garden.

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
