Description

Cotoneaster 'Queen of Carpets' also known as creeping cotoneaster, is an evergreen shrub with a low-growing, trailing habit, perfect for ground cover in gardens. It typically reaches a mature height of just 0.5m with a spread of up to 2.5m, making it ideal for covering wide areas. The plant features small, glossy dark green leaves with a silvery underside, creating a striking visual contrast. In summer, it produces clusters of small white flowers with purple anthers, followed by eye-catching pinkish-red berries that last from autumn into winter.

Cotoneaster 'Queen of Carpets' thrives in moist but well-drained soil and enjoys a position in full sun to partial shade. Its attractive foliage and seasonal interest make it an excellent choice for adding year-round colour and texture to garden borders.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
