Description

Noted for its stunning foliage, 'Hint of Gold' is a deciduous and dense shrub with bright golden-yellow leaves. This is beautifully complimented by its intense violet flowers which bloom from July to October. This shrub is particularly valued for its late flowering, providing flower beds with a last jolt of colour. It is also low-maintenance and attracts pollinators, earning it both the RHS Award of Garden Merit and the Plants for Pollinators designation, making it a fantastic choice for any garden.

'Hint of Gold' prefers full sun within a sheltered environment in well-drained, chalk, loam and sand soils. Its ultimate height and spread is 1 meter, making it suitable for container planting.

Planting Steps

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
