Description

Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanille-Fraise' produces impressive fluffy cone-shaped panicles of creamy-white flowers with a pink flush. Sitting against green leaves, the flowers can last into autumn and develop more vivid pink colouring as they age. ' Vanillé -Fraise' translates to vanilla-strawberry in reference to this beautiful colour-change.

A medium-sized, bushy shrub, Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanille-Fraise' will grow to around 2.5 x 1.5 metres (height x spread). It thrives in moist but well-drained soil and is well-suited to positions with full sun to partial shade, tolerating some wind exposure.

Also known as: panicled hydrangea [Vanille Fraise], Hydrangea paniculata 'Renhy'PBR, Hydrangea paniculata 'Hp100', Hydrangea paniculata 'Vanilla Fraise'

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
