Description

Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' is a small-medium sized white flowering shrub that produces big blooms throughout summer. Enormous spherical flower heads up to 25cm across are composed of many smaller creamy white blooms.

From spring through autumn, 'Annabelle' Hydrangea has fresh green, broadly oval-shaped leaves, which provide an attractive backdrop in a border. This deciduous shrub has a bushy habit and will grow to 2.5 x 2.5 metres (height x spread) in 20 years.

Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' is easy to grow, thriving in well-drained soil and growing best in a position with full sun or partial shade, ensuring optimal growth and prolific flower production. It is a wonderful summer flowering shrub for garden borders or as a striking specimen plant.

Also known as: Hydrangea 'Annabelle', Smooth Hydrangea

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
