Cornus kousa var. chinensis Tree
Flowering Chinese Dogwood Trees

Description
A beautiful small flowering tree or large shrub, Cornus kousa var. chinensis produces a profusion of large white flower bracts in May and June. The flowers adopt pinkish hues as they mature. This Chinese Dogwood flowers later than florida varieties, thus extending the season of interest.
Cornus kousa var. chinensis has dark green oval leaves with a subtle wave and pointed tips. The leaves turn vivid orange and red in autumn, when small edible (but insipid) pink fruits are also produced.
A small yet bushy Flowering Dogwood tree, Cornus kousa chinensis will grow to an estimated 4 x 3 metres (height x spread) in 20 years. Thriving in full sun, it will also grow well in partial shade but poor or shallow soils should be avoided. This Chinese Dogwood will reward you with abundant blooms and spectacular autumn colour.
