Pieris japonica 'Mountain Fire' Shrub
Lily-of-the-valley Shrub

Description
Pieris japonica 'Mountain Fire' is a compact evergreen shrub, rounded in shape which can reach an approximate height and spread of up to 4m in maturity. It is unique in its display of young red leaves in spring which change colour to hues of copper green and mature to a dark green. In spring, white blooms in branched panicles emerge resemblant of lily of the valley which contrast nicely with the bronze foliage and add charm it its appearance.
Mountain Fire thrives in acidic, well-drained soils and prefers a position in full sun or partial shade. It is relatively low-maintenance and benefits from protection from harsh winds. This variety of Pieris japonica is an excellent choice for adding year-round interest to gardens, particularly in mixed borders, woodland gardens, or as a striking standalone specimen. Its colourful foliage and elegant flowers make it a standout addition to any landscape.
