Description

Known as Common Lime, Tilia × europaea ‘Pallida’ features attractive heart-shaped that are lime green when they emerge. By summer, the leaves are a darker green and are accompanied by sweet-scented white-yellow flowers. They attract many pollinators, making it a great choice for wildlife gardens. In autumn the leaves turn a lovely golden colour, before falling and revealing the reddish-brown branches.

Tilia × europaea ‘Pallida’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and benefits from a sheltered position. This cultivar performs best in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and is generally a reliable, resilient tree for urban and garden settings.

Aftercare Advice

Trees and shrubs require a good watering regime for a couple of years whilst they establish. Water well and regularly through spring and summer, increasing in hot or dry weather. If planting in autumn, you may only need to water a little. It is advisable to keep the area free of competing weeds and grass during this period.
