Field maple. Medium sized tree with yellow autumn colours.

Bird Cherry. Small, native tree producing erect racemes of white, almond-scented flowers in spring. After the leaves come small black fruits. A robust tree with good autumn colour.
Unmistakable, large, long lived spreading native tree. Supports a huge range of insects and associated wildlife, should be planted as often as possible, where space allows, though not really a garden tree.
