One of the very nicest Japanese flowering cherries ‘Shirofugen’ is popular for its long lasting display of large, double, blousy flowers and deservedly so. The blossom appears in April-May and in favourable years can hang on into early June. Big, white/blush blooms that hang in clusters from long stalks all over the branches open from pink buds and then progress to purplish-pink as they fade. The flowers look striking against bronzed young foliage that develops to mid-green and then a good display of orange and red in the autumn. Tolerant of pollution this tree is ideal for urban areas and will grow in most but wet or shallow chalk soils. ‘Shirofugen’ is a small, widely spreading tree that will grow to 6 x 6 meters in 20 years. Its oriental-style, spreading shape lends it to Japanese themed plantings but it looks equally as impressive as a feature tree.

Delivery

Bare root and rootballed trees can only be dispatched from November - March. Pre-order is often advisable.

Delivery Timescales

The vast majority of orders are dispatched within 7 days. If for any reason we cannot dispatch your order we will contact you. We aim to keep the full range of trees in stock at all times to insure an efficient service.
All trees are sent 'no signature required' so there's no need to be in to receive your order

Trees are packed in specially designed containers and delivered using couriers who've been tried and tested over many years.

Delivery Charges

England and Wales

Carriage is charged at between £4.95 and £24.95 depending on the individual order and is calculated at the checkout.

Scottish postcodes G, EH, ML, KA, DG, TD are charged as ‘England and Wales’ above.

Only items below 2.5 metres in height that are not deemed ‘heavy’ or to be of unusual shape can be ordered for delivery in KW, IV, AB, PH, PA, DD, KY, FK postcode areas of Scotland and are delivered by courier. Carriage will be charged at between £29.95 and £39.95 and is calculated at the checkout.
