The wave of Spring flowering trees may be passing, but there’s a plethora of fresh foliage in striking colours and shapes.
Many Japanese Maples are in their prime. Acer palmatum ‘Beni Maiko’ has stunning green and pink-red marbled effect leaves at the moment, that will turn a fiery red for Autumn. Acer palmatum Dissectum Viridis has lime green lacey foliage right now. In Autumn it turns shades of gold. Alternatively, Cercis canadensis ‘Hearts of Gold’ has pretty heart shaped leaves in a translucent yellow that will progress to a yellow-green in summer.
